Olav Torvund

Olav Torvund is professor at the University of Oslo, working both at the Department of Private Law and the Norwegian Research Center for Computers and Law (NRCCL) since 1994. He is a candidate of law (1983) and dr. juris (1993). He is currently head of NRCCL, chairman of the board of Intermedia, boardmember of the Centre for Continuing Legal Education, and member of the Control Committee of NOS. He has been a consultant to the Central Bank of Norway, several Norwegian Banks, the Norwegian Registry of Securities and several securities trading companies.

His main working areas are e-commerce, Intellectual property, contracts, payments systems and electronic securities trading. He has also been working with e-commerce issues in international organisations such as UNCITRAL and UN/ECE.
